Explicit Rant Targeting Sam Ponder is Major Reason Why She's Not a Fan of Barstool-ESPN Partnership
By Kyle Koster
Barstool Van Talk premieres on ESPN2 in less than 30 hours. Sunday NFL Countdown host Sam Ponderrolled out the welcome mat in a unique way. Dan Katz, who will co-host the show with PFT Commenter, did not author the content in question. The 2014 post Ponder screen-grabbed was written by Barstool founder Dave Portnoy as an editor’s note.
The “rundown” Ponder is referring to featured Katz and Portnoy discussing the Week 6 NFL gambling picks during the 2014 season. The relevant section about Ponder is below. Spoiler alert: neither come off as big fans.
“I know for a fact that every day at ESPN, all the suits and all the lawyers they have their daily 9:15 coffee meeting on how can we fire Sam Ponder without being sued for discrimination,” Portnoy says. “She’s the worst. No person who watches GameDay wants to see a picture of her and her ugly kid. Nobody cares, Sam Ponder. We want to see you sex it up and be slutty and not be some prude f–king jerk who everybody hates.”
“Show me one person who likes Sam Ponder,” Katz says. “I don’t even think Christian Ponder likes Sam Ponder. Everyone hates her but no one will say it out loud.”
Portnoy, who refers to the Ponder’s daughter as a “rat kid,” saves his strongest critique for last.
“Sam Ponder, you f–king slut,” he says. “I don’t want you at these games being super-prude and talking about God and religion and how your kid is so awesome and breastfeeding when I’m watching GameDay.”
UPDATE: Ponder has issued a clarification and explained her motivation for going public.
Katz appears unconcerned.
