Floyd Mayweather will face Andre Berto on September 12th in Las Vegas. Mayweather is supposedly opening as a -4000 favorite in Vegas. I’m not 100% certain the math in that tweet checks out, but if it’s right, then betting on Floyd Mayweather is probably not worth your rollover minutes. And speaking of a bad return on investment… this fight is going to be on Pay-Per-View. Likely for $75 in HD. Seriously, you thought Floyd Mayweather was going to pass up a payday?
While the fight will likely see Mayweather reach the mythical 49-0 benchmark everyone holds so dear, Andre Berto is 3-3 in his last 6 fights. HOWEVER! Before you downplay that record, you should know that one of those wins came against Steve Upsher Chambers, a guy who doesn’t have a Wikipedia page. Or a BoxRec page. He might not exist. Mayweather is still going to make so much money in September.
