Fox Bought the Rights to Make a Movie About Kurt Warner: Who Plays Kurt Warner?

Well get ready to hear that tale once again in the form of a feature film based on Kurt Warner’s life, as Fox has purchased the rights:
20th Century Fox has acquired the life rights to develop a feature based on the life of Kurt Warner, who went from stocking shelves at a grocery store for $5.50 an hour to become one of the most prolific passers in NFL history. The film will be produced by Temple Hill partners Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey, and part of the rights package will include Warner’s autobiography All Things Possible: My Story Of Faith, Football And The Miracle Season.
I can tell already the buzz is palpable.
For many people, Kurt Warner’s improbable climb served as a great source of inspiration, and it would have done so for me too had he and his wife not sported matching flat-tops at the time. Perhaps actors playing Kurt and Brenda Warner will stir a miraculous change of heart. That brings me to the burning question on everyone’s mind:
Who the hell is going to play Kurt Warner?
Here’s a list of five possible candidates:
Freddie Prinze Jr. — His career appears to be in the tank, so perhaps playing the resilient Kurt Warner can spring a touching rebirth, which will in turn force Fox to develop a feature film based on the life of Freddie Prinze Jr.
Bradley Cooper — Fearlessly sprouted a perm for “American Hustle.” Giving birth to a flat-top should be an effortless transition.
Daniel Day-Lewis — Would make Kurt Warner far more interesting than Kurt Warner ever did, though spending three months in a helmet and pads could be problematic and possibly dangerous for those on the set.
Mark Wahlberg — Played the courageous Vinny Papale, so he’s familiar with the burden of properly honoring and celebrating true football stories. Downside? Needs stilts.
Howie Long — Starred in box office hit “Firestorm” and sports an impenetrable flat-top. Playing quarterback, however, could go against everything this man has stood for his entire career.
As for who will play Brenda Warner? If Cloris Leachman can revert back to her Facts of Life haircut from 1986, I believe we have a winner. Yes, she’s 87, but talented hair and makeup artists often serve as magicians on the set.
