Full 32-Minute High School Basketball Game Somehow Ends With 2-0 Score

Bibb County’s Brandon Rutledge made a layup 15-seconds into the game and from there the teams took turns playing keep-away. Or just plain stalling. Neither team played defense or offense. Brookwood was playing their fourth game of the week and suffering from cramps so they decided to sit back. Bibb County was more than happy to play along with their huge lead. From the Tuscaloosa News:

" “They came across half court and kept everything really spread out to force us to extend our zone,” Wallace said. “The first couple of minutes, even with us extending it, they were passing it around the perimeter, so I backed the kids up on defense, and they just stood there and held it.” “He went back into a zone, and we are a lot better team when teams play man-to-man,” Fitzpatrick said. “Especially as big as they are, so we decided, ‘OK, let’s just hold the ball and see what happens.’ They never came out of the zone. We got a chance to rest, and we thought they might chase us a little bit, so we just held the ball.” "

Why they don’t have a shot clock in whatever level of basketball that is is beyond me. Perhaps a coach that can intentionally try to hold his own team under 10 total points can give some tips to the coaches who “do everything they can” to not beat teams by 100.
