Johnny Manziel Drafted ... by the San Diego Padres
By Mike Cardillo
Johnny Manziel threw out a first pitch for the San Diego Padres in 2013. Saturday the club selected him with the 837th pick of the 2014 Major League Baseball draft. That’s the 28th round, if you care.
Perhaps this explains why the Cleveland Browns quarterback of the future was enjoying himself so much at the X-Games this weekend.
Either way, it would appear the Padres are looking for some publicity in the shadow of the Dodgers and Angels in Southern California.
