Jon Lester Says Substance in Glove was "Just Rosin"
By Mike Cardillo
Talking to the media on Thursday afternoon at Fenway Park before Game 2, Lester said it was rosin — something he typically uses.
Boston manager John Farrell said essentially same thing, noting Lester “sweats like a pig” and needs the rosin for a grip.
Cardinals manager Mike Matheny downplayed the issue, too, during his press conference.
Case closed? MLB certainly thinks so, as it issued a statement earlier in the day it wouldn’t pursue any action into investigating the glove.
Fans, however, on either side probably aren’t going to soon forget the controversy of Lester’s glove as the Series continues.
