Juan Uribe Says He Doesn't Wear a Cup Because the Indians Trainers Don't Have His Size

Juan Uribe (testicular contusion) said no BP today. Asked why he doesn't use a cup, he said: "I don't think the trainers have my size." Oh.

Juan Uribe suffered a testicular contusion on Sunday. (A “nutcussion,” if you will.) He was the second Indians player in a week to suffer that specific and horrible injury. Uribe, a 37-year old infielder, spoke to the media today and admitted that he doesn’t wear a cup because Cleveland doesn’t have any his size. He may have been joking. Or he was serious.
Juan Uribe said today he doesn't wear a cup because the trainers don't have one in his size.... Then he said I'm serious.

Many follow-up questions and background interviews will need to take place. Could the Indians not obtain a cup big enough for Uribe? Do they not make cups that big? Uribe broke into the big leagues in 2001 with Colorado. He’s also played with the White Sox, Giants, Dodgers, Braves, and Mets. Were any of those clubs able to cover Uribe in enough molded plastic to protect his balls from balls?
