Michael Dyer Leaves Auburn, Follows Gus Malzahn to Arkansas State
By Jason McIntyre
This week, reports have swirled that Auburn’s star RB, Michael Dyer – who was suspended for the New Year’s Eve bowl game against Virginia – would be following Malzahn to Arkansas State, and the National Football Authority is reporting paperwork was being filed today.
Malzahn obviously will be a massive loss, but Dyer’s departure would be nearly as significant. After rushing for 1,093 yards and five scores as a freshman, he went for 1,242 and 10 TDs this year (though he did nothing against LSU and Alabama). Dyer, who is from Little Rock, was rated the 11th-best football player in the class of 2010.
