Michigan State Runs Extremely Dumb Fake Field Goal for Some Reason
By Kyle Koster
With one second remaining in the first half, Michigan State was tied 14-14 with Maryland. Considering the fact that the wind to the offense’s back, Mark Dantonio could have sent his kicker Michael Geiger out to try a 46-yard field goal as the half expired to take a lead into the locker room.
This is what happened instead. Geiger was tasked with breaking off a 46-yard touchdown run against the Terrapins. He didn’t make it because, hey, why would he? It was a virtually impossible task.
It seems like blasphemy to even suggest this, but this fake may have been dumber than BYU’s one from Thursday night. Anything is possible.
