Mike Francesa Says "Guys with the Jets" Pushed Woody Johnson to Hire Doug Marrone, But He Refused
By Jason McIntyre

As the NFL world waits for the consistently inept Jets to hire a general manager and head coach, there’s this, from radio host Mike Francesa earlier today:
"My understanding is, there were guys with the Jets, who already asked Woody to pick Marrone. And Woody said no. Woody didn’t have a great meeting with Marrone. … I don’t think he’s going to be the Jet coach."
It’s not sourced – other than, “My understanding” – which means Francesa could be cobbling together bits of information he’s heard and read and just making an educated guess.
This is what we know: Woody Johnson has given one general manager candidate a 2nd interview. His name is Mike Maccagnan. He’s the Houston Texans director of college scouting.
