The Steelers’ headsets were picking up the Patriots’ radio broadcast on their headsets, as reported by NBC during the game broadcast. Afterwards, someone asked Mike Tomlin about it. He was a little bit fired up and didn’t seem to chalk this up to just a gaffe.
For what it’s the worth, the league is in charge of headsets, not the home team. Then again, the league is also in charge of assuring the proper inflation level of the balls, and we saw where that ended up. Surely, though, the Patriots wouldn’t be so dumb as to actually mess/interfere with something like this. Get your tin foil hats on, and ready to adjust until the morning.
