Minnesota Broke The Governor's Victory Bell Rivalry Trophy After Beating Penn State
By Ty Duffy
Minnesota beat Penn State 24-10 for its fourth-straight Big Ten win. Players were so excited they broke the “Governor’s Victory Bell,” a fake rivalry trophy that has been handed out since Penn State joined the conference in 1993. The game has been played 13 times. This was Minnesota’s first win since 2004. The tension between the two schools is palpable, across that 974-mile divide.
