Mitch Williams Sues MLB Network, Claims He Was Fired After Refusing to Sign Agreement to No Longer Attend His Kids' Sporting Events

Mitch Williams, the former Phillies pitcher, is suing MLB Network for wrongful termination and Gawker Media for defamation after a post on Deadspin this past May reported that Williams was ejected from his son’s baseball game for arguing with and cursing at an umpire. A few days later, Deadspin wrote a story in which observers told the site that Williams called a 10-year-old a “pussy” and ordered one of his team’s players to bean the opposing pitcher. As you’d presume, Williams had different accounts.
