New Britain Rock Cats Apologize For Fake-Looking Marriage Proposal That Really Was Fake
On Monday I posted the above video that purported to be a man proposing at a minor league baseball game and getting rejected. I said it could be a hoax. It seemed too good to be true. Turns out it was. The couple in the video were New Britain Rock Cat employees. Today the team released a very unnecessary apology. From WFSB:
“If anyone was offended by the promotion in any way we sincerely apologize,” said Mike Abramson, vice president of marketing for the team. “This endeavor was intended to entertain and remind fans you never know what you’re going to see at a Rock Cats game.”
The apology is part of the viral marketing! We’ve been duped again!
