NHL All-Star Captain Demoted to AHL to Make Room For NHL-Caliber Player
The NHL’s ever-revamping All-Star weekend resulted in John Scott, a fighter with 11 career points in 8 seasons who has appeared in just 11 of the Phoenix Coyotes’ 42 games this season, being voted an All-Star captain. (See? This is what happens when people get to vote on things.) To further make this look silly, Scott has been demoted to the Springfield Falcons, the Coyotes’ AHL team, to make room for somebody who might actually be able to play in an NHL game. The good news is that Scott will likely be called up again before the All-Star game so he’ll still be eligible.
