14 NFL Teams received $5.4 million in taxpayer money from the Department of Defense from 2011-2014, to promote honoring military heroes, according to this report from NJ.com. Atlanta led the way with pocketing $1,049,500 over that span, ahead of Buffalo ($944,000), Indianapolis ($620,000), and Green Bay ($600,000). The Cleveland Browns, meanwhile, received two separate payments totaling $22,500.
