Rajon Rondo + DeMarcus Cousins Would Be a Disaster in Sacramento

The Sacramento Kings have been all over the place in the last two weeks, between their star player feuding with their coach, Vlade Divac’s struggles at the NBA draft, the John Calipari rumors, and now, this: Rajon Rondo is in talks with the Kings about a potential 1-year deal.

Rudy Gay is apparently pushing for Rondo, and when you look at the talent in Cow Town, it’s undeniable: Gay, Cousins and Ben McLemore. Toss in rookie Willie Cauley-Stein, maybe 2nd year shooter Nik Stauskas can earn some playing time, and Rondo to run the show … on paper, the Kings could make some noise.

But the personalities on this team will lead to disaster. At the first sign of trouble, this powder keg will erupt. And in the challenging West, having to play the defending champs, improving Lakers, loaded Rockets, always-there Spurs … this locker room has the potential to be a war zone by Christmas.

Of course, the key to all this could be who they replace George Karl with because … he’s gonna get fired, right? Cousins and Rondo in practice vs George Karl would get ugly.
