Red Sox Fan Rips Alex Avila's Home Run Ball From Woman's Hands, Chucks it Back onto the Field
By Mike Cardillo
Alex Avila took Clay Buchholz deep into the Fenway Stadium bleachers in the sixth inning of the ALCS Sunday night in Boston. It made the score 5-0.
One Red Sox fan apparently was so enraged by this turn of events, he pried Avila’s souvenir away from a female fan’s hands. The fan promptly chucked it back into right field. Well done. Well done. You’ll probably never have to buy another beer in Beantown the rest of your life.
Of course the guy wearing a visor to a baseball game on a chilly night in October does this.
The guys egging him on on ought to be very proud of themselves, too. All-in-all, a moment of pride for all parties involved.
Via unconfirmed Twitter reports, the fan has been ejected from Fenway Park.
