Everton smashed VfL Wolfsburg 4-1 in the Europa League Thursday evening. Even so, the game’s highlight came in a late, consolation free kick by Wolfsburg defender Ricardo Rodriguez whose rasping, left-footed shot left Tim Howard rooted to his line. Rodriguez put together a nice World Cup this summer with Switzerland and will probably be on his way to a bigger club within the next two transfer windows.
To be fair to Howard, he did make this save earlier in the game on a free kick.
