Richest Baseball Players of All Time

2. Alex Rodriguez, $399 million
A-Rod's 10-year-, $252 million deal with the Texas Rangers back in 2000 was earth-shattering and did more to get the wheels rolling toward top-tier players becoming half-billionaires. The Yankees would later give him a 10-year, $275 million deal in exchange for eyeballs and that aforementioned 2009 crown.
1. Miguel Cabrera, $401 million
Cabrera started making over $20 million per year back in 2010 when Dave Dombrowski was operating like money was no object. The Detroit Tigers would proceed to give him an eight-year, $248 million extension so he could wind down his career in the Motor City. He never won the big one with Detroit but he did make quite a bit of dough. However, we wouldn't expect him to hold this place for long as the contracts continue to get bigger.
