Rob Konrad Falls Off Fishing Boat, Spends Nine Hours Swimming to Shore
By Jason McIntyre

Konrad, who starred for the Orange at fullback – same team as Donovan McNabb – in the late 90s and was a 2nd round draft pick of the Dolphins in 1999, was fishing by himself Wednesday night off the coast of Palm Beach, Florida, when he accidentally fell into the water. It’s unclear how this could have happened, but Konrad told the Coast Guard that the boat was on autopilot and got away from him.
So Konrad miles to shore after being in the water for nine hours. No other details are available right now, but if this story holds up, it’s one for the books. Nine hours at night in cold, shark-infested waters?
Coast guard says former Syracuse/ Dolphins fullback Rob Konrad swam approximately 9 miles to shore. Arrived in Palm Beach this morning.

If true, that’s incredible. [H/T James]
