Rob Ryan Fired as New Orleans Saints Defensive Coordinator
By Jason McIntyre

Rob Ryan has been fired as the defensive coordinator of the Saints according to Fox Sports. New Orleans has the worst defense in the NFL – arguably one of the worst defenses in NFL history. The Saints gave up 514 yards to the Redskins Sunday in a 47-14 beating on the road. The Redskins averaged 8.7 yards per play and on at least one play, a New Orleans defender appeared to have more interest in settling a personal score than making a tackle.
Strange season for the Saints: Started 0-3, and the talk was Drew Brees was going to leave at season’s end, and Sean Payton would move on to another job. Later, they won three in a row – and briefly, Rob Ryan looked capable when the Saints smothered the Falcons on Thursday night – and New Orleans was 4-4 and maybe a Wild Card contender.
But getting shredded by Marcus Mariota and Kirk Cousins has extinguished those hopes.
