Russian Hero Cat Statue Unveiled Outside KHL Hockey Arena

Admiral Vladivostok unveiled a new statue outside their arena on Sunday. The statue depicted Matroskin, the unofficial club mascot and Russian hero cat who died in June. As I’m sure you recall, Matroskin became a sort of Russian folk hero after he climbed into a display case at an airport shop and consumed $1,000 worth of seafood while someone filmed him eating. Now, he has a statue that will forever remind people that you will be rewarded if you eat fish without paying as long as you are a cute little kitty cat.
