Santonio Holmes Signs with the Jets

Now the Jets will turn their attention to pursuing Oakland defensive back Nnamdi Asomugha and re-signing receiver Braylon Edwards. Here are three Holmes highlights from last year that came during an exhilarating 3-game stretch mid-season. At the bottom was his low-point of the year – dropping a TD pass in a terrible loss to the Dolphins.

Here’s Gus Johnson calling the time Holmes broke away for a huge gain in overtime against Detroit to set up the game-winning field goal.

Probably his most awesome play of the season, with help from the keystone cops in the Cleveland secondary. The Jets blew numerous chances to win this game, and then Holmes saved them late in overtime. Nice call by Jim Nantz.

My favorite game of the season. The Jets were dominating in the third quarter, then caved embarrassingly in the 4th, and the game looked to be a loss. This clip is long (you can fast-forward to 2:45, where it gets good), and the Braylon Edwards catch is actually better than Holmes’ game-winner. Soak it all in.

This might have been the worst NFL game played last season.
