Shaquille O'Neal: Dwight Howard Can't Handle the "Bright Lights"
By Kyle Koster
Shaquille O’Neal was interviewed about Dwight Howard’s decision to join the Houston Rockets, so that means he spoke candidly on the situation.
"“The Dwight Howard thing, it was expected. We’ve all been in LA, and not a whole lot of people can handle being under the bright lights. Everybody wants to do it, but when you get there, there are certain pressures. I think it was a safe move for him to go to a little town like Houston. That’s right, little town. I said it.”"
O’Neal not only handled the bright lights, he flourished under them. He’s certainly in the unique position to opine on all that comes with being the center of attention in Los Angeles. But it’s also no surprise he has a less than favorable opinion about a decision Howard made. The TNT analyst has been very consistent in his criticism of the newest Rocket for many years.
For the record, Houston is the fourth-largest city in the United States. The U.S. Census Bureau said it.
