Silas Redd Transfers From Penn State to USC

USC had an immediate need at the running back position. Amir Carlisle unexpectedly transferred in January, Dillon Baxter was dismissed from the team, and Tre Madden, who was switched to the position in the spring because of depth concerns, tore his ACL. They have three players at running back entering the season. The addition of Redd – the guess here is he wins the starting job – probably gives USC the best offense of any title contender in the country.
With Penn State losing its best offensive player and perhaps its backup QB, it is a feeding frenzy in Happy Valley right now. If this keeps up, the Nittany Lions will be a road apple in the Big Ten this year, especially for Wisconsin, which appears to be a lock for the conference title game.
