Syracuse Misspelled Roosevelt Bouie's Name on His Retirement Ceremony Jersey
By Kyle Koster
Syracuse honored greats Louis Orr and Roosevelt Bouie during halftime of today’s game against Pitt by retiring their jerseys. It was supposed to be a great moment as the Orange paid tribute to the teammates, who went 100-18 during their four years together.
But some of the magic was lost when Bouie was handed a framed jersey with “Bowie” on the back.
Ouch.
To Syracuse’s credit, the jersey hanging from the rafters is spelled correctly.
Even still, it’s hard to imagine how many pairs of eyes saw this garment before it ended up in Bouie’s hands.
If you see something, you must say something.
It’s really only a matter of time before the university’s Millennials honor coaching great Jim Baeheim.
