Tebowing in a High School Leads to Suspension for Football Players
This is one of the dumbest stories I have ever heard. I hate everyone involved. A group of high school students were suspended for Tebowing at school. Who is the biggest doofus in the story? Well, that’s a tough one. First up, the principal. Via Newsday:
“It causes a potentially unsafe situation with 1,500 people in the building,” Principal David Wicks said Thursday. “If you have 40 kids kneeling down in the middle of a hallway, and God forbid a fire alarm goes off, they could potentially stop someone from getting to safety.”
Shut. Up. Next up, the students. Via Prep Rally:
The Riverhead teens were apparently just trying to tap into that trend, with Carroll saying that the group only intended to throw down one-kneed touchdown salutes, “out of respect for Tebow, and because Tebowing is the new thing to do.”
“Out of respect for Tebow.” Shut. Up. These kids are awful and deserve to be suspended, but not for putting anyone in danger (no one was in danger), but because they’re awful. Here’s what administrators told Conner Carroll, one of the suspended students:
“The administration told us that our Tebowing was blocking the halls and could potentially cause a riot, because they were growing in number and if the wrong kid gets pushed a brawl could ensue.”
I need to go for a long walk and play with a puppy or something because I just hate everything right now. How can so many people be the worst? [Newsday, Prep Rally]
