The Football Outsiders Really, Really Love Robert Griffin III
By Jason McIntyre
The Football Outsiders devised some sort of scoring system to rate QBs coming out of college. It’s an intricate formula that involves many variables. Among them – career college games started, career completion rate, difference in passer rating between junior/senior year and run-pass ratio of a QB in his final college season.
Now, the scores:
Peyton Manning (Tennessee): 1,784
Drew Brees (Purdue): 2,190
Philip Rivers (NC State): 2,476
Andrew Luck? He scored just under Manning (1,749). Robert Griffin? He scored higher than … any other QB, ever (2,530). Redskins fans, rejoice!!
