This Tim Duncan Missed 3-Footer That Would Have Tied Game 7 Was Eerily Similar to That Patrick Ewing Missed Layup vs. Indiana

Tim Duncan, NBA legend, 4-time NBA Champ, 3-time Finals MVP, had a 3-foot hook shot that would have tied Game 7 with :49 left. To the shock of everyone watching, the ball refused to go down. It was one of those OH MY GOSH NO WAY moments that sealed LeBron’s 2nd straight NBA title. If that shot falls and the Spurs go on to win, it’s very possible Duncan would have been named MVP of the Finals. The 37-year old averaged 19-12 in the series, and carried the Spurs during long stretches of Games 6 and 7.
The miss reminded NBA fans of this improbable Patrick Ewing rim-out at the end of Game 7 against the Pacers in 1995. How did this not fall?
