Tiger Woods Got in Some Time at the U.S. Open Course, Chambers Bay

Tiger Woods’ plane was spotted at Narrows Airport in Gig Harbor, Washington on Sunday night. Woods, who is now ranked 172nd in the world golf rankings and has three U.S. Open wins, played nine holes on Monday and was out on the course on Tuesday also. On Monday, Tiger hit his tee shot to about 10 feet on the par-3 ninth, one of my favorites on the course, and got some applause from a few onlookers.

According to Tacoma News-Tribune:

"Woods arrived at the course in a dark SUV early Monday and took about 3 1/2 hours to play nine holes alongside caddie Joe LaCava and swing coach Chris Como before taking a lunch break around noon."

Woods is scheduled to play in the Memorial at Muirfield this week, a course he has won on five times and knows well, so why wouldn’t he go ahead and take in a quick look around the tricky U.S. Open course? He needs to get in those 10 rounds Mike Davis mentioned were necessary to understand Chambers Bay.

It would be great to see Woods grab a win heading into the U.S. Open, but with a field as talented as a major championship his chances are less than slim.
