Tiger Woods, the once-great golfer who hasn’t won a Major in five years, is not a closer. Here’s the most important golf stat over the last six majors (a year and change):

Tiger Woods was +19 on weekends over the last six Majors before the British Open (and was +4 last weekend), a jarring stat that is a major reason he’s in the worst drought of his career.

Why does he play so poorly on Saturday and Sunday?

He’s now -13 the first two days in the last seven Majors including the British Open, but has a habit of collapsing on weekends.
