Tim Tebow Has a Solid Shot at Making Eagles Roster

Don't get it confused because Tebow is throwing darts. He can still spin out of tackles, tuck and run for 17. http://t.co/W4FsCvu2fH

Tim Tebow has quietly, for him at least, played himself into position to perhaps make the Eagles roster for this season. The text in these official NFL account tweets is haughty and annoying, but the videos do illustrate why Tebow — who was 11-17 passing for 189 yards, two TDs, and one INT against the Jets on Thursday — is in this position for more than just his legs:
.@TimTebow came here to stand in the pocket and throw touchdowns. You're welcome to watch the show. #TebowTime http://t.co/p8NqVA22Ew

Reading the tea leaves, Tebow’s making the roster became a greater possibility a couple weeks ago when word trickled out that Chip Kelly was “increasingly excited” by the quarterback. It also helps that Tebow’s competition for the third quarterback spot in Philadelphia is Matt Barkley, who on Thursday was 4-9 for 45 yards, zero touchdowns, and an interception.
And if Tebow does make the roster, it’s not so much of a stretch to think he might eventually start at quarterback. Sam Bradford missed all of last season, and only played in seven games the year before. Mark Sanchez is, well, you know. Nobody is making Tebow out to be Joe Montana, but there’s reason to believe he could be an unconventional threat in Chip Kelly’s offense.
