Tyrann Mathieu Suffered Leg Injury, Stumbled Trying to Walk Off Field [UPDATE: Torn ACL, LCL]
By Mike Cardillo

Tyrann Mathieu, the Cardinals’ talented rookie safety, injured his leg on a kick return during Sunday’s game with the Rams. The leg appeared to buckle when a Rams’ defender knocked into it. Mathieu, aka the Honey Badger, tried to walk off under his own power but crumpled to the field en route.
[UPDATE: It’s a torn ACL and LCL for the Honey Badger. That ends very good rookie campaign for Mathieu, who was clearly a 3rd round steal in the draft. The Cardinals were much better than expected this season, and the defense was a major reason why. They should compete for a Wild Card spot again next season.]
Mathieu will have an MRI on Monday, but most are reporting the rookie likely tore his ACL:
#Cardinals rookie DB Tyrann Mathieu is feared to have an ACL tear after initial tests, per source. MRI to confirm tomorrow. Awful
