Vanderbilt University announced that four football players have been dismissed from the team for what is termed as a “violation of team rules.” The four have also been placed on interim suspension by the University and are not allowed to return to campus during the suspension. The Vanderbilt release also says the mattter was reported to the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department..
According to Nashville police spokesman Don Aaron, the suspensions (now dismissals) are related to an investigation by the sex crimes unit into whether a sex crime occurred on campus in a dormitory. This is an open and very much active investigation,” Aaron said.
