VIDEO: After Getting Kiss from Pat Narduzzi, Pitt Kicker Chris Blewitt Boots Field Goal to Upset Clemson
By Kyle Koster
Chris Blewitt’s 48-yard field goal with six seconds remaining helped Pittsburgh stun Clemson, 43-42. The Panthers drove down the field in the game’s final minute after stopping the Tigers on a fourth-down attempt that would have salted away the contest.
Blewitt had missed a long field goal and an extra point earlier in the game. Pitt coach Pat Narduzzi apparently helped keep his kicker’s head in the game by showering him with kisses.
Excellent talent management. Hopefully booting the biggest kick of the college football season will put a moratorium on any name-related jokes.
The stunning upset came despite Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson setting an ACC record with 580 passing yards and totally changes the College Football Playoff picture.
What a ‘duzzi.
