Vladimir Putin Denies Stealing Robert Kraft's Super Bowl Ring, Calls Claim "Weird"

“What Mr. Kraft is saying now is weird,” Dmitry Peskov told CNN. “I was standing 20 centimeters away from him and Mr. Putin and saw and heard how Mr. Kraft gave this ring as a gift.”

What an opening line to an official statement. The gift — stolen ring? — remains in the Kremlin library. If Putin really did what Kraft said he did, and literally just walked away after being handed the ring, I can’t help but be amused by the brash move.
