Watch the San Jose Sharks Make a Teenage Hockey Player's Dream Come True

Sam Tageson is a 17-year-old hockey player from Martinez, Calif. He was born with hypoplastic left heart syndrome, meaning his heart only has two chambers instead of four. Eventually Tageson will need a transplant.

Despite his condition — and against doctors wishes — Tageson’s played hockey since he was six years old. Tuesday the San Jose Sharks welcomed Tageson to practice with them, signing him to a one-day contract. It culminated later in the night with Tageson skating out through the team’s famous shark mouth — the first non-player to do so in franchise history.
