Bill Goldberg still has it. The former WCW champ was part of the Miami Marlins’ “Legends of Wrestling” night Saturday night. During first pitch festivities, Goldberg uncorked one of his trademark moves — the spear — to take down a heel in Rockies gear who appeared to be cutting a promo. It left you wondering, “Who’s Next?”
If you don’t happen to be a late 1990s wrestling afficienado, Goldberg began his career with a 173-match winning streak.
Eat your heart out Joe DiMaggio.
“Legends of Wrestling Night” also included the Nasty Boys and Jimmy Hart singing “Take Me Out to the Ballgame” and Billy the Marlin in a Hulkamania shirt.
We also got some promos from Brutus ‘the Barber’ Beefcake, Greg ‘The Hammer’ Valentine, Bushwacker Luke and Koko B. Ware, who was wearing a magnificent parrot hat.
It’s not often you can say this, but bravo Marlins, bravo.
