Jacoby Jones on the Stripper and the Champagne Bottle: "Wrong Place, Wrong Time"
By Jason McIntyre
Jacoby Jones, the injured Baltimore receiver who was hit in the head with a champagne bottle courtesy of a stripper early Monday morning, has been ruled out for this weekend’s game in Buffalo. The Ravens listed his reason for missing the game as “knee.” Yeah, but what about the party bus and “Sweet Pea” and the fight and all that? Jones finally broke his silence on the radio:
"“I’m going to take the responsibility that I was in the wrong place at the wrong time,” Jones said. “There was no altercation. There’s nothing wrong. I did nothing wrong but I take responsibility for being in wrong place at the wrong time. Enough said. I apologize to my teammates and everybody.”"
Take note, pros – that’s a job well done. An apology. Skirting buzzwords that stirred interest, like stripper and champagne bottle. Accepted full responsibility. Just enough to get folks to say, ‘ok, that’s behind us’ and move on. [via Baltimore Sun]
