You probably didn’t think youth hockey was taken too seriously in Florida. You would be wrong. A man named Matthew Charles Supran was arrested for an incident at his son’s game on Sunday. After his son was elbowed (and the opponent was given a 5 minute penalty), Supran took justice into his own hands. According to the Palm Beach Sun Sentinel:
The referee told deputies that the play was not “malicious,” and he gave the victim a five-minute penalty. The younger Supran fell to the ice after being hit, the report states.
That’s when the victim and witnesses say Matthew Supran ran on the ice and punched the victim in the face, then grabbed the teen by the helmet and slammed his head into the boards around the rink. Supran then fell on top of the teen, according to the report.
Supran, a chiropractor, was arrested at his office and charged with child abuse. [via Sun Sentinel]
