‘Tis the season for super-quick goals in the EPL. Jay Rodriguez added his name to the rapid-fire list, scoring after 13 seconds to put Southampton ahead 1-0 over Cheslea Sunday at Stamford Bridge. Rodriguez’s fortunate goal was quick, but it was still  about a second behind Stoke City’s Asmir Begovic, as the keeper scored in roughly 12 seconds vs. Southampton earlier this season.

The assist on Rodriguez’s goal goes to Chelsea’s Michael Essien, as his back-pass toward Petr Cech in goal hit Rodriguez perfectly in stride.

Chelsea have never lost a Premier League match with Jose Mourinho as manager. Southampton have a looooong way to go if they want to add an EPL home defeat to the Special One’s resume.

Ledley King’s goal after 10 seconds vs. Bradford is the quickest in league history.
