Rob Gronkowski, who missed the first six games this season due to a forearm injury, could have the rest of his season in jeopardy after suffering this knee injury following a brutal low hit against the Browns. TJ Ward of the Browns went low on Gronkowski, who was running at top speed, and one of the best tight ends in the NFL went down and barely moved. It appears Gronkowski’s knee took the brunt of the hit. He was carted off the field.
There was no flag on the play. The Patriots are trailing Cleveland 12-0 midway through the 3rd quarter.
[UPDATE: Mike Garafalo of Fox Sports is reporting that Gronkowski has suffered a torn ACL. That would end his season. Also, the Patriots rallied to victory against Cleveland, 27-26. They always win those games, don’t they?]
[UPDATE II: It’s official – Gronkowski has a torn ACL and MCL. His season is over.]
