Kirk Cousins is Fumbling, Bumbling and Throwing Interceptions in the Finale
By Jason Lisk
Kirk Cousins is not exactly taking hold of his opportunity. Yes, his base numbers didn’t look horrible in his last two starts, but Atlanta and Dallas are two of the worst defenses in the league. His numbers have been worse than many other quarterbacks who have played the same teams, including Matt Flynn.
In wet conditions today, Cousins has struggled mightily. Washington has only six first downs, and Cousins is 10 of 25 for 93 yards. The only thing he had not done is turn it over, until the last two drives. Fumble in the red zone, followed by an interception.
Cousins is at 5.97 yards per attempt (and counting) on the season, which is really bad. It’s even worse once we account for the defenses faced. Silver lining? Griffin shouldn’t be as paranoid about Cousins next year.
