The Jamaican 2-man bobsled team qualified for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, but they didn’t have the money to go. So the Jamaicans, with the help of Devon Harris, who was one of the original Jamaican bobsled team members in 1988 in Calgary, turned to crowdsourcing website CrowdTilt to raise the money they needed. In less than a week, they blew past their $80,000 goal and had raised $129,899.17. So now they have plenty of cash to get there and even have enough left over to bring their lucky egg.

If you were curious, yes, Cool Runnings holds up. The movie, which came out 20 years ago last October, was on cable recently and boy did it get dusty in my living room towards the end.
