Dee Hart, an Alabama running back, is the latest Crimson Tide player to get arrested. Hart was arrested Sunday for giving false information and possession of marijuana, according to the Tuscaloosa News.

Hart, a sophomore, carried the ball just 22 times last season, and was way down the depth chart in line to get carries next season. Heisman candidate TJ Yeldon and backup Kenyan Drake will be the workhorses for Nick Saban’s Tide in 2014.

[UPDATE: The Alabama athletic department just released a statement:”Dee Hart has not been a part of the football team since the bowl game and has not participated in any of the off season program. Hopefully he will learn from this mistake and continue to work toward completing his degree, which he is on track to do by the summer.”]

At what point will the media begin to tally Alabama arrests over the last few years? The program’s starting to take on an Urban Meyer-in-Florida type feel when it comes to off-the-field issues. Or perhaps the heightened spotlight on the program due to success just makes it feel as if there have been more arrests.
