An Anti-Redskins Ad Will Air During Game 3 of the NBA Finals Tonight

Seven cities will see this ad, which was paid for by California’s Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation, during halftime of tonight’s Spurs-Heat game. As the Washington Post reports, the video was originally produced by the National Congress of American Indians, which was one of the groups behind a petition recently sent to NFL players urging them to take a stand against a title which “does not honor people of color.”

“Native Americans call themselves many things,” the narrator says at the end. “The one thing they don’t ……”

The prevailing question remains when, and not if, Roger Goodell and the NFL will mandate a name change.
