Greg Monroe Urinated on Himself During the Booking Process After his February Arrest

Greg Monroe of the Pistons was arrested in February for driving visibly impaired, and police have released video of his traffic stop. Not shown: When Monroe goes to the police station and urinates on himself during the booking process.

The first question in the video, to me, was a surprise: “How far did you get in school? Did you graduate high school?”

Monroe went to Georgetown. In the car, after the 1:10 mark, you can hear this sad exchange:

"“I’m just trying not to be in the newspaper,” Monroe is heard saying to the officers during his transport to jail. “I play for the Pistons,” Monroe said. “You play for the Detroit Pistons,” asks one of the officers in the vehicle. “Unless you told people that are going to tell people, we don’t tell people,” an officer is heard saying."

Monroe will make $5.5 million this season, and then be a free agent next summer.
