For a long time people liked to compare European soccer to American college football, at least in terms of tribalism and passion. Lately European clubs are following college football’s trend of creating elaborate, eye-catching uniforms. The latest development is TSV 1860 Munich’s Oktoberfest-themed lederhosen-styled kits for Saturday’s game.
The jerseys were popular, selling out the stock of 1,860 in the club’s shop within four days. Expect them to soon hit eBay and become the most-coveted piece of fabric for soccer hipster jersey collectors around the world.
