Dick Vitale Claims He's Victim of Bizarre Twitter Hack

It was a pretty eventful morning for ESPN’s Dick Vitale on social media.

First he posted this nice photo of himself with two fans enjoying a meal at a First Watch restaurant in Florida to Instagram.

Sure, the First Watch tag leads to a fairly edgy meme page. But that’s no big deal.

Then Vitale followed it up with this tweet.

Ah, yes. The dreaded tagging error strikes again. We’ve all been there. Perhaps not to this magnitude, but we’ve all been there. You shake it off and you hope to be better tomorrow.

Well, that’s what most people do. Vitale decided to respond in this manner:

Now, I love Dickie V as much as the next guy but this explanation seems unlikely. If he was, in fact, the victim of a hacking, it’s the most subtle and logically explained hack in the history of Twitter. Perhaps that’s the brilliance of such an intrusion.

We all know the only way to know if Vitale’s account has truly been hacked is if things even remotely critical of Duke begin to appear.
